Ginger Turmeric Tonic

Ingredients
- 1 oz fresh ginger juice (or strong ginger tea)
- 0.25 tsp ground turmeric
- 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice
- 0.5 oz honey syrup
- 4 oz soda water
- Pinch of black pepper
- Lemon wheel, to garnish
Method
- 1Whisk the turmeric into the honey syrup first so it doesn't clump.
- 2Add the ginger juice, lemon juice, pepper and ice to a shaker and shake for 10 seconds.
- 3Strain over ice into a highball glass.
- 4Top with soda water and garnish with a lemon wheel.

Notes
- The pinch of black pepper is traditional alongside turmeric and adds a genuine warmth.
- Grate ginger and squeeze it in a cloth for fresh juice — far better than any bottled version.
- Turmeric stains everything it touches. Wipe up quickly.
