Ingredients
- 4 oz strong brewed black tea, chilled
- 4 oz lemonade
- Ice
- Lemon wheel and a mint sprig, to garnish
Method
- 1Brew the tea at double strength and chill it completely. Warm tea over ice makes a weak drink.
- 2Fill a tall glass with ice.
- 3Pour the tea and lemonade over the ice in equal parts.
- 4Stir once and garnish with a lemon wheel.

Notes
- Brew the tea strong. It's diluted twice — once by the lemonade and once by the ice — so normal-strength tea disappears entirely.
- Palmer himself reportedly preferred more tea than lemonade, around 3:1. Worth trying if the standard version is too sweet.
- Cold-brewing the tea overnight gives you a smoother, less bitter base with no work.
Common questions
What is in an Arnold Palmer?
Iced tea and lemonade in roughly equal parts, over ice. It's named after the golfer, who ordered it regularly.
